Transport                               

Alness is well served by public transport. Below you will find some information on getting to and from Alness and further afield.

Bus:

X25 timetable Inverness - Dornoch (from Jan 2016)

X99 timetable Glasgow/Edinburgh - Scrabster (from Jan 2016)

Train: Alness train station is convieniently situated at the east end of the town below the Perrins Centre.

North Highlands timetable:  Inverness - Thurso and Wick (8th Aug - 10th Dec 2016)

Timetables for all other lines out of Inverness.

Air: Inverness Airport is only 30 miles from Alness with scheduled flights north to Shetland and south to Italy with numerous airports inbetween.

Ferry: The Cromarty Ferry runs in the summer months.

Road: The A9 is the main route to Alness.
