Invergordon Lifeboat

The Invergordon volunteer Lifeboat crew were launched thursday 16th May.  Two persons had been reported stranded on a yacht in the Cromarty Firth.

The crew arrived on-scene 13 minutes after the pagers sounded.

This charity started off when Sir William Hillary made an impassioned appeal to the nation, calling for a service dedicated to saving lives at sea.

That service was to become the RNLI. And since their foundation in 1824, the brave lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 140,000 lives.
