Alness heritage Centre 40s Weekend 19 June 2009 Alness Heritage Centre are gearing up for their 1st 40’s weekend in the Heritage Garden. There will be three days of entertainment which will also celebrate Armed Forces Day on 27th June. On Saturday 27th there will be a 40s Concert in the Perrins Centre at the top of High Street at 7pm. Go back in time and enjoy a night of 40s entertainment, songs music and dance with 40s teas! Tickets are available now at Alness Heritage Centre priced £4. The Heritage Centre will be open all day Saturday 27th June 10am – 3pm On 28th June the Day in the Garden will begin at 12noon with Historic Interpreters Bob Holsman and Son telling the stories of the 51st Division and the Home Guard with weapons uniforms and lots of action throughout the afternoon. In the Wallace Room there will be an exhibition of the David Wilkinson Armament Collection and throughout the Heritage Centre there are displays from Alness at war, to Schools of the 40s and 50s, lots of artefacts your Granny will remember using, all sorts of stalls in the garden and teas throughout the afternoon.
